Mayon's "Fifty Shades of Clay" exhibition opening cocktail reception is at Polu Gallery Hale'iwa from July 7th from 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibition will take place until July 23rd, 2023.
As a kid from Paris, she dreamed about Hawai'i Islands. Mayon moved to San Pedro, CA, in 2016 and visited Hawai'i once a year to make her dreams come true.
Mayon's love for the earth reflects in her art. She is not only a clay and ceramic artist but also an owner of a vegan shoe company. She walks upon the ground with her vegan shoe designs and later turns the earth into clay and eventually one-of-a-kind handmade clay and ceramic pieces for daily usage. She uses multiple mediums inspired by the creativity of nature.
Mayon's art is inspiring and practical and has an identity that reminds us of island life.
Mayon's art takes us to the ocean, sun, and waves; her mugs, cups, plates, and tiles create a fracture in our daily busy morning routines. For a moment, Mayon's art takes us to the serendipitous moments we have experienced in nature.
Mayon's works are clay pieces we can use in our daily lives, with her illustrative skills from her designer background make her pieces unique. She uniquely uses small dots and thin lines and turns them into visuals we understand.
We are so happy to share this experience with you in our Hale'iwa gallery.
Mayon is our only clay/ceramic artist at the Polu Gallery. Her work "Surfer Mug" now reminds hundreds of art and surf lovers of the glory and stillness of the ocean in the comfort of their homes. We appreciate our clients purchasing and asking for the "Surf Mugs."
The "Fifty Shades of Clay" exhibition cocktail reception opening is on July 7th, Wednesday, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
We would love to see you there. Join us to experience art you can use daily and meet with Mayon.
